Jason Connell:

Welcome to Just curious media. This is let's talk Cobra Kai. I'm Jason Connell.

Sal Rodriguez:

And I'm Sal Rodriguez.

Jason Connell:

Well, Sal, you sound a little bit different today a little further away. Why don't you tell everyone where you're at?

Sal Rodriguez:

You know what, I don't know if people are going to believe me, because this can easily be a gag. But God honest truth. I am right now in receipt of California. I am on saticoy, just east of Tampa, near the intersection of a small street called Sylvia Avenue. So where Sylvia ends at saticoy in receita, staring at the South Seas apartment complex. Yes, folks. That's where I am.

Jason Connell:

Oh, wow. And not to be confused with the seven C's apartment. No, no,

Sal Rodriguez:

no. We finally got it only took us It only took us two seasons to get it right.

Jason Connell:

That was my bad. I guess I want it to be seven sees so badly. So you're there. Are you waiting and anticipating someone shooting something? They're like karate movie or a new season of Cobra Kai, or what's going on?

Sal Rodriguez:

Well, I was in the area and thought I'd stop by. So here I am hanging out. And I want to let you know two things. First is there was some sketchy guys like kind of scoping me out. One guy started filming me sitting in my car. I don't know what this guy was doing. And these are definitely the sketchy characters like the people you just see milling about. Like, as my mother would say. They're not doing anything productive, you know. So there was some sketchy guys. I thought I might have thought I might have to leave but it looks like they're finally gone. The other thing is I'm sitting here staring at the South Seas, watching the Cobra Kai commercial on Facebook. If that's not meta, I don't know what meta is.

Jason Connell:

The only thing more meta is if you were in Daniel Russo's apartment, while you know this. Speaking of

Sal Rodriguez:

from my perspective here, if you remember, Daniel walks up the stairs, and he's on the left, right. Yes. So it looks like he could have been his bedroom overlooking a parking lot adjacent to a laundromat. So yeah, this is not the most scenic area.

Jason Connell:

Wow. Well, I'm glad you're there, man on the street, so to speak. Loving it. And this is just a very quick update before. Everything happens later this week, as the world probably knows now, but that is the fact that season three has been moved up thanks to Johnny Lawrence from January to January 1.

Sal Rodriguez:

Yeah, Johnny Lawrence did it himself. We saw him do it. We witnessed it. Johnny Lawrence changed the date on the Netflix screen with one keystroke. And here we are thinking that John is behind the times are still in the 80s. And this guy is manipulating Netflix, right? Can't do this. He's come

Jason Connell:

a long way from learning the internet. I gotta say. And I love the description that is on Netflix when he logs in. And of course it says Season Three coming January 8, which he changes to a one. And then it goes on to say Johnny Lawrence wins it all and gets all the hot babes and Daniel loses everything. It's the feel good story of the year zebra rocks.

Sal Rodriguez:

So I guess we're led to believe that before we even see Johnny, in this commercial, he had already been working on the synopsis on the Netflix screen. He put that synopsis together, even before he changed the release date.

Jason Connell:

So good. Oh my goodness. So this kind of changes our release strategy because you and I Sal and I were prepared for January 8 at midnight stroking midnight, watch episodes, get into the studio and start recording our podcast. Well, this moves things up a week.

Sal Rodriguez:

Yeah, well, this is typical Cobra Kai, flip the script. That's what they always do. You know, they flip the script with each other on the show. Now they're flipping the script with us as a waiting fans. Here. We are planning our lives for crying out loud. I mean, I thought I would be lazing about from January 1 to the eighth. But no, we're going to be in the studio recording our podcast because yeah, they flip the script. And here we are now January 1. So we all know how we're going to be spending our New Year's weekend now.

Jason Connell:

And the reason I bring up our scheduling is because of this once we found this news out, which is incredible. Listen, I am elated. It's a great time to come out and makes total sense to launch on January 1, New Year you start right out of the gate. But we had some episodes already queued up to come out. And in all honesty, there'll be a little bit outdated and they may get lost in the shuffle if they come out after season three because who knows we might get more interviews. We're gonna have 10 episodes to cover and we're gonna be in a different headspace. So let's go back to December 23. We did release a great interview with Owen Morgan who plays Bert on Cobra Kai i highly recommend you check that out. And then on Christmas Day we released a very special Row bonus episode, which is the QuickBooks commercials in which since a crease, plays himself and sheds light on his new dojo, which is koala chi. And Sal, we really also wanted everyone to have a very Christmas holiday, so to speak.

Sal Rodriguez:

Merry Christmas, do you?

Jason Connell:

So that was a lot of fun. We put those two out there. And we have some cool things in store for this week.

Sal Rodriguez:

Yeah, Jason, I'm really excited and proud of what we've been doing. I think that we are exploring a lot of interesting territory. You know, we are all over the map with Karate Kid and Cobra Kai. So, you know, wherever I feel like it's a bat signal when we see that Cobra Kai logo, we are there we are

Jason Connell:

there. So this week, we're gonna go ahead and tease what's coming. So on December 30th, we are going to be releasing another great interview and this one with Joe soul who plays Kyler on Cobra Kai, it's an incredible chat that I had with Joe. He's been in lots of movies from great iron gang to Freedom Writers. He's worked with big actors, and it's wonderful to do a deep dive into his career and his journey as an actor. And then we're going to release another special episode Sal.

Sal Rodriguez:

So we are moving things about because Netflix, move things about.

Jason Connell:

Exactly. And so our special episode after the incredible interview with Joe, on the 31st we're going to be releasing a great episode we did called BG H Smart TV, and they do this wonderful campaign called Mr. Miyagi. And there's actually two more funny commercials, but we explored it from head to toe. It's a ton of fun. But in the midst of the episode, we're also priming season three of Cobra Kai so again, it just makes more sense to give the audience a little something extra kind of like what Netflix did to everybody. By moving the date up. We're gonna give our audience another special episode back to back weeks bonus episodes so you can enjoy more in preparation for January 1.

Sal Rodriguez:

Wait a second. Jason. Are you saying that let's talk Cobra Kai is flipping the script?

Jason Connell:

Absolutely. Hawk style. Nice. So much like everyone else. You and I are counting down the days the hours and minutes until January 1 Is the stroke of midnight so we can dive into season three of Cobra Kai but yeah, now our covered will be bear sow and we're getting ready for the new.

Sal Rodriguez:

Well I'm big time excited about the new year. Big time excited about season three of Cobra Kai. I want to give a shout out to you Jason and Happy Holidays to you and your family. And to all of our listeners Happy Holidays and Let's all hope for and strive for a fantastic 2021

Jason Connell:

Absolutely Same to you sow it's been an incredible run we've had even through this rocky 2020 We hit our stride we've made this show better and yeah, to each and everybody out there. Stay safe, stay healthy. And get ready for Cobra Kai because it's coming.

Sal Rodriguez:

No Mercy
