Jason Connell:

Welcome to Just curious media. This is let's talk Cobra Kai. I'm Jason Connell.

Unknown:

And I'm Sal Rodriguez.

Jason Connell:

Well sound you sound a little further away. Why don't you share with everyone where you're at? Exactly.

Unknown:

Well, Jason, I've got a very special place. I'm gonna let you guess, but I'm gonna give you a big hint. I'm at 5223 Lankershim Boulevard on the west side of the street, just north of Magnolia. I mean, I'm being very specific. But do you know where I am?

Jason Connell:

Sounds like the original Cobra Kai dojo.

Unknown:

Oh my gosh, I can't believe it. I mean, I'm seeing people walking toward me when I'm talking. It might as well be a dejected crease. I mean, I'm right in his pathway. I'm right here.

Jason Connell:

Oh my gosh, what is it now? Is it a dance studio? Or what exactly is the building?

Unknown:

Well, there's been a few different incarnations over the years. In fact, there's even an interview of Martin cove on YouTube, where he's kind of going through the place as it's been refurbished. Oh, wow. So it was really nothing at that time. Right now. It's some sort of spiritual store like a psychic store. They've got like spiritual candles and incense and, and lavender and all that sort of stuff. So that's what it is right now. Which is a far cry from the original Cobra Kai Jojo.

Jason Connell:

Right? I'd prefer it be that than like a Five Guys. or so. Yeah. Whereas completely whitewashed forever. This kind of is in the same ballpark. But you're there. And we're talking not to break down a new episode. But because Netflix dropped a season four teaser trailer this week, just a couple of days ago. Super exciting.

Unknown:

Oh, yeah. Yeah, I mean, you know, I think a lot of us saw this coming. But now to see it to actually see it in front of your face. Oh, my gosh, very exciting.

Jason Connell:

Yeah. So we both saw this coming. We've talked about this, especially when we cover the Karate Kid part three special episode well worth checking out. And so essentially, this is a very short teaser trailer sell, but it does reveal what exactly.

Unknown:

Thomas Ian Griffith returning as Terry silver.

Jason Connell:

Wow. I'd say I can't believe it. But after last season, bringing back Elizabeth Shue is Ally anything's possible and this does feel so right sell.

Unknown:

I'll have the vegan month on bowl.

Jason Connell:

Well, the trailer looks really cool. The teaser trailer I should say it's in a black room. Black gi Terry silver looking away from camera Sal. So immediately though, you kind of know because you can see the ponytail.

Unknown:

Yeah, so his back is the camera. The camera starting to zoom in on our man.

Jason Connell:

Yeah, and we hear from the movie Karate Kid. Part Three. Man can't stand. He can't fight. Man can't breathe. He can't fight. Man can't see. He can't fight. These are the words that he was sharing with Daniel Russo. When young LORUSSO was a Cobra Kai students hell.

Unknown:

Oh, yeah. And when he was breaking pieces of wood, literally 40 feet from me. 40 feet from me right now.

Jason Connell:

I love those scenes where anytime Daniel pop by the dojo at night, someone was there much like Cobra Kai, because Chris is always at the dojo no matter what time of day.

Unknown:

They should have opened up a little convenient Mark inside the dojo since it's open anyway.

Jason Connell:

Totally. And so in the trailer, there's an extra line

Unknown:

now that I don't remember now. I saw the trailer three times. Okay. But remember, I said I'm an Asian. So I did. I did forget some things. All I remember was

Jason Connell:

Terry silver is back with his silver ponytail now.

Unknown:

All Yeah. Oh, he's now silver in what is he a silver fox? He

Jason Connell:

sure is. Well, the other line in question is extreme situations require extreme measures. Wow. So then the text comes up on screen and it says,

Unknown:

Now the real pain begins.

Jason Connell:

Oh, gosh, I'm so excited. So I wonder if you can still kick. Obviously the real actor thomasian Griffith, which you mentioned earlier, obviously has a martial arts background. His kicks were phenomenal. He had moves. He looked like the real deal. So hopefully he continued that in life. But yeah, what's this gonna mean? We've speculated last season as we wrapped up season three of Cobra Kai in our show, let's talk Cobra Kai, but does he come back because he got a phone call from crease who needs help? And what's his role going to be? You know, what does this mean?

Unknown:

And it's a different era now. Because is he still a billionaire? Is he lose his fortune? Who is Terry silver today? Not only what can you do for don't increase But where has he been all these years? And what has he been doing?

Jason Connell:

Right? Yeah, their plan of rolling out Cobra Kai's across the nation with Mike Barnes is the poster child went away. But it doesn't mean that he took a financial loss because he didn't even start that venture once Daniel beat Mike Barnes in the spoiler alert, and Karate Kid part three. But does he still live in the anus house? That incredible home from Blade Runner? Yeah, these are things I want to know.

Unknown:

Yeah. Is he still taking champagne bubble baths?

Jason Connell:

Right, driving around in the backseat of his roles and reading his financial newspapers or magazines? Yeah, I cannot wait to find out. And now of course, as we all know, we have Daniel and Johnny join sides. So this does give crease that teammate, you know that guy in the foxhole. No pun intended there for their Vietnam days together. Oh, yeah. Yes. But yeah, I am more anxious than ever. Now, this kind of respect, you know, that desire to quickly get back to season four. So I went on to read Sal, I don't know if you saw this, but they're speculating when season four will drop on Netflix.

Unknown:

Yes. I've heard some speculation. I don't know if it's the same speculation that you heard. But apparently, Hayden Schlossberg, he kind of releases these cryptic tweets, right. So I saw some guys try to like, decipher these tweets. And I don't know if these guys are right. But it was it was fun to speculate anyway. And what they say? Well, they believe it could be mid September, because that coincides with some sort of growth of apples. And he tweeted something about apples. And so again, some sort of crazy cryptic tweet that people are trying to figure out. That's interesting.

Jason Connell:

Well, what I came across was their speculation that Netflix would release season four of Cobra Kai between October and December of 2021. So I always thought it would be this calendar year because Season Three was held back and then finally released on New Year's Day. So I always felt like they're not going to wait a full year. I could see them coming out, you know, sometime late fall. I even thought summer at one point in time. Well, the actual show started filming in late February of 2021. And ended production and April. So yeah, that's enough time post production. This thing absolutely should come out this fall winter.

Unknown:

Well, absolutely. Absolutely. By winter, and I do believe it will fall. I don't know. I don't know. I think it'll be out this winter. And yeah, I'm thinking of December release. Winter's coming. So yes. And you know what, one thing I I definitely believe Jason is if Terry silver is still who we know he was or is. Yeah, I bet he's big into cryptocurrency.

Jason Connell:

Absolutely. There's gonna be some crypto talk for sure. Which it will really excite me is I've been doing deep dives and learning much about crypto. Oh, for a while now. But yeah, that's a very good point. So I'll be looking out for that. You'll get bonus points if that comes to fruition?

Unknown:

Yeah, I'll make a bet with you. If he's big into cryptocurrency, you have to send me What 100 Bitcoin.

Jason Connell:

The current cost of Bitcoin is just under 40k per i don't know, Sal, we might have to give you a Dogecoin instead. They're about 36 cents right now. But yeah, that's it. We just wanted to give everyone the fans a quick update because we're sure you're on it as well. And just to let you know that Sal and I are still waiting, looking. And of course we took a quick break from let's talk Cobra Kai, as we are rolling out our new show. That's a crime. Which sow we just this week alone? Released episode three.

Unknown:

Yeah, very excited. We've recorded what seven episodes so far. Yep. Well, you know what, Jason, I honestly, I was a little reluctant to get involved in another podcast with you. Because I'm so proud of Let's Talk Cobra Kai. I mean, I'm thinking, what, what are we going to do that's going to measure up to let's talk Cobra Kai. I've always been very excited about our show. So I was thinking, what are we gonna do this? Pick a topic or at least compete with it. And you know what? I think we're getting there. Jason. I really do. Oh,

Jason Connell:

it's awesome to hear so great. I agree with you completely. And I know that you guest host on Let's Talk movies, but as far as a co host and committed the time and energy and yeah, you don't want to make something far short of Let's Talk Cobra Kai, but Sal, I wouldn't let that happen. I take it very serious. I had a feeling for a long time that crime shows such as that's a crime, in which we cover all things from a mystery. Enter to a murder. So it's not just like a serial killer show or a show about murders. It's really a show about different stories and different people all walks of life, anything from a funny crime, if you will, to something much heavier, and a darker tone, so, and I knew you'd be the right guy for it. So thanks for joining me on this new venture. And I'm super excited, man.

Unknown:

Well, thanks, Jason. I'm happy to be here. And when I say happy to be here, I mean, on the air with you right now. I mean, on that's a crime, our new show. And right here right now in front of the original Cobra Kai Dojo on Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood. Man, this is exciting. You know what, I don't want to leave. I know we're gonna be saying goodbye to each other soon. But I don't want to leave here. What am I going to do? I need to you should go

Jason Connell:

in and shop around and just take a peek at the old dojo.

Unknown:

Wow. I don't know. I don't know. That's, that's tough. I looked at the exterior of the building. I see where this from the outside. I don't know if I want to go in. I don't know if I'm ready for that.

Jason Connell:

All right, fair enough. You're warming up to it. Well, you can come back here again, and then see if you can cross that threshold.

Unknown:

I might maybe maybe. I'll tell you what, when they released Season Four. I might come back here.

Jason Connell:

There you go. All right. Yeah. I like that. I like that. And just to quickly bring it back to that to crime. Please go check that out. Three episodes live. We've covered DB Cooper hijak. Heist, 1971 Baylor Bears basketball, murder, 2003 Dana Plato video store robbery. 1991. All live on every platform, wherever you get your podcast. Many more coming out every week. And let's talk Cobra Kai plays on both shows. Absolutely. Go and give us a five star rating. We need it. We'd love it. We greatly appreciate it. If you have the time. Leave us a great review on Apple podcasts. It helps us stand out from the pack, reach more people and kind of service our community our listeners.

Unknown:

Yeah. We love hearing from our listeners. We love getting the feedback. We'll be doing another fan appreciation episode at some point. Yeah, so totally appreciating the communication. And thanks for listening, everybody.

Jason Connell:

Yeah, thank you so much for listening, and have a great Memorial Day.

Unknown:

No Mercy
