Sal Rodriguez:

Welcome to Just curious media. This is let's talk Cobra Kai. I'm Jason Connell. And I'm Sal Rodriguez. All right sound we are back for another super fun episode. I know we're about to go down the rabbit hole big time. I know we are this is this is where people get to geek out. This is where people get to nerd out. Nerd an episode like this. Yeah, I mean, I I never thought I would be in this position in life to geek out on something like this and yet, and yet here I am. Yes, you are with me. So today we are breaking down or at least getting into behind the curtain of all Valley karate champion, Darrell for doll. Oh, he Nene one. Wow. Yeah. Not to be confused with Vidal Sassoon. Oh, from the 80s Very different. Very different Darrell the dog, the dogs the last name, I forgot about that. Yes. And I said anyone for a reason. Yeah, we'll get to that in just a moment. But the reason for this episode is simple. So when we were doing our super fun, great special episode recently on Friday, Fernandez, oh, Neil, the Russos first friend party Fernandez. I went through the movie with a comb, and was looking for scenes a Friday so I could get more backstory to do the episode, which is a hilarious episode. You're right. Absolutely. Well, while doing so I had my own revelation. So yeah, I was at all valley. I saw Freddy and I was like, Oh my gosh, okay, there he is. Okay, where's his friends, which leads to this Triumph and ending which I'll say check out the episode or the movie again. But I see the doll. And I was like, wait a sec. Hold on a second. I was going back in time to Cobra Kai season three, Episode Five. Miyagi dough. Yeah, like one of the greatest episodes ever from Cobra Kai. But their particular scene was when Chris visits Robbie in juvie, your old stomping grounds. Oh, yeah. That's Sylmar juvenile detention facility. Yes. alumna. I say that. Jokingly. Hey, hang on Jason. Um, besides myself, because right now I'm realizing that not only did Freddy bring Daniel to alley, Freddy brought you to the dump. He's a connector. He's a connector on the doll. So anyway, Chris is teaching Robbie explained to him more about John. You know, this is what Chris does. He's in a job saw this knowledge but he's got a reason. Sure. It's trying to like reel him in to Cobra Kai. Well, we learned in that exchange that Johnny made the quarterfinals in his first all Valley and he fought but lost to a very skilled fighter named Darryl the doll. The Alpha doll. Wow, who would become the 1981 of ally champ. But hang on. It is interesting that Darrell the doll is widely known in the Cobra Kai Karate Kid universe as the doll whereas nobody else is known by their last well crease. Crease is known for his last name, but that's it. You know, Johnny and Dan Russo? Yeah, I know. That's true. We've taken that on how do we know the doll more? Maybe he would have become Darrell Yeah, we don't have a doll is cooler. It is cool. So that's kind of amazing and no shame and that Johnny loses to the eventual champ his first go right now Daniel went pretty far in his first go as well. But that's a whole other story. We'll save that we're in at one right now. Daniel prodigy that's the idea is that is sort of a prodigy as is if at all and probably Lawrence to button during that episode, our episode covering Miyagi dough last season. Yeah, I was even just curious. Gotta do some air quotes, though, about the fact that had the doll ever been Cobra Kai? Because I wasn't thinking back to the original movie. I was like, so Chris is speaking very highly of this competitor. Yeah. And I'm going to pause why I thought that more for further in this episode. But it turns out Darrell fuddle was actually part of locus Valley karate club. Oh, the rare known Cobra Kai and credit card folklore. Locust Valley. Wow. Would that be LV? KC? Yeah. acronym for sure. But I don't know if they use that, do they? Not sure. In fact, that's the one and only time we saw that Dojo make an appearance in anything. But there it was onstage. So I'm watching this looking for Freddy and his other friends and watching the movie and going, that's if at all. And if you recall how skilled he was, he truly was next next level watching the film again. Oh, yeah. Because he's doing all kinds of moves. He's bringing other martial arts into his karate. By the way, I don't know how that is in official rules. Like if you deliver a certain kick in a crowded tournament, are you allowed to deliver a Muay Thai kick and a karate tournament or I don't know how strict they are and those types of things, but he because he's bringing in all All kinds of Yeah. When leasing stuff in exile. Yeah. Capoeira is like a Brazilian dance martial arts. Yeah. Where you kind of it looks like you're doing dance moves, acrobatic moves. He's doing all kinds of cool stuff. It's okay if you're in a fight. Yeah, you as long as you follow the rules, whatever those rules are, but if you're doing forms, you're being judged on forms. You gotta know what form you're doing. Yeah, yeah. And we never see them do forms and any all valleys. That's actually funny. We've never talked about it, never seen it. Cuz usually tournaments are forms over here. And then you get to the fighting. But forms are formed. It's one person, you know, and it doesn't have the same energy in the show feeds off of aggressive behavior. Yeah, full contact eye contact. All right. Let's skip ahead. Now, I'm assuming Sal that the doll at one's champ compete NAD two, you would think so? Sure. You would think so. Right? We don't know. There's no like roster list. There's nothing stating that the doll fought in 82 because he won 81. And we know he's in 84. Right. So it's like, okay, 8182. Maybe he fought? Maybe he didn't. We do know one thing about 82, though. And what is that? Was that Johnny's first when? Exactly. Oh, boy. That's the only thing we know about 82 Is it Johnny was the victor. But we don't know that the DA was there in 80. So I don't know. I'm gonna assume he was now. We do know this, though, that all Valley probably didn't have the 1985 roll, also known for its appearance in The Karate Kid part three. And so just quickly explain to our audience briefly don't let me go into it. What that was No, no, don't get Jason started on this. It's from Karate Kid three, where they changed the rules, allowing previous year's champion to not have to climb the ranks in the tournament. Yeah, just kind of show up at the final and fight the winner of the tournament. So one fight for the champ who knows how many fights? The person climbing the ladder had to be in that same night? Multiple fights? Yes. Yeah. Well, I'm assuming that rule did not apply in 82. Because it didn't apply in 84 or 83. What we learn? Yeah, so I don't think that ever existed before or since Karate Kid part three in 1985. But we don't know for sure. But Doc could have got injured he could have been traveling. He could have been fighting another tournament. You know, the St. Gabriel Valley. are fighting in Japan. Who knows? Yeah, we don't know. But let's skip to 1983. Okay, we learned this courtesy of Valley News. As Robbie read this article in that same episode season three episode five Miyagi dough. And the title of the article reads celebrated war veteran leads Dojo to fourth all Valley when? Yeah, doesn't that sound so great, and also paints a picture yeah, to think they're talking about crease here. We didn't know as much then as we know now, but of course this article didn't come out until the Cobra Kai show, but it's manufactured from the past. Yeah, we learn in this article. We know this anyway. That Johnny Lawrence did when 1983 He's a two time champ. Yeah, we know that. 182 183 He's fighting an ad for for his third in a row. That's a given. Yeah. Now, Johnny B. Tommy. Rest in peace, Rob garrison. Oh, yes. Rest in peace. Who has no last name from the franchise? Hmm. Yeah, I found nothing. But whatever. In the semi finals, Tommy beat Darrell the doll. Oh, boy. And then Bobby, you know his last name. Bobby has the last name. Yeah, Bobby does with Tommy doesn't but Bobby does. Okay, what is brown? Bobby Brown. No joke. I'm not joking around there. It's Bobby's prerogative. It's my prerogative. Come on. Gotta give me one here. So that was before Bobby Brown hit the scene. So actually, the original Bobby Brown was Bobby Brown from Karate Kid. Well, Bobby Brown was in New Edition the US the singer was a new addition to time Candy Girl. Early Mr. Telephone man. Oh, wait, wait, new addition, cooling Nahalat now? Yeah, exactly. So he was on the he was there he was in the pub. But somebody named him Bobby Brown. Anyway, Bobby beat the adult as well in the third place match of 1983 How good is Bobby Bobby doesn't get enough credit. Bobby did go on to fight Daniel in the semis in 84. So Bobby's a good fighter. He's right there with everybody. Although I'm saying 83 You know, where's Dutch? Yeah, we're hanging on to our knowledge Dutch has never won and all Valley. Obviously not because what we know he wouldn't have unless he was younger. And maybe he was competing at six. I doubt it. He probably got D queued. I'll tell you Why, you know why Jason? To emotional to emotional, you can't let your anger get a hold you and that's what Dutch has done? Well, here's a question, Sal, they must have gotten rid of the third place match because you know, 84 didn't happen 85 It didn't happen. It's never been on Cobra Kai. So it just popped up at three, they did a third place match. There was no talk of it in 8182. But we know less about 81 and two. So I guess it's a thing of the past. They said, You know, no one's really attending the third place match. Let's just move on. You mean like if you were to compare it to metals, you have like a gold medalist, silver medalist and a bronze medalist right for a second third, so to speak. That's true. Yeah. Much like, let's let's go to 84 Because we're all very familiar with that. Yeah, doll loses to Johnny. Bobby loses to Daniel, although Bobby also gets the cute, so maybe he's out skis. But if he wasn't dq, it would have been Bobby in the doll for third. Okay. All right. Yeah. So that's how you would do it. And that's what apparently they didn't know the three. So this is almost like way. Hang on, Jason. Sorry. You reminded me of the whole trophy thing, right? Because when Chris chastises Johnny for getting second place trophy, yeah, was there a third place trophy? Well, in 83, there would have been nice, although it's like Cobra Kai versus Cobra Kai so maybe police wouldn't have been as upset Yeah, because one of his students would have been victorious over that yeah, Bobby would have won third place they also got second and they would have had first so they hit Cobra Kai is bringing a bunch of trophies yeah sweep. But what was interesting to me was the fact that well, let's go back to this for a second my curiosity of adults Dojo stems from the article title itself Yeah, it's you know, how did crease when a fourth all Valley it's not four in a row but it's obviously celebrated war veteran leads Dojo to fourth all Valley when you know why it was at fourth straight victory. It would have said that that's not at play. That's not a play. But we know Chris didn't win at four. We know he didn't win at five. They were close and they probably should have but they did is yes. And if ADOL was always locus Valley and never Cobra Kai because he could have been right he could have been Cobra Kai and and said, this crease guys too intense. I'm going yeah, you know, there's a lot of switching dojos on Cobra Kai, I can handle this. So war veteran guy. Yeah, I'm I'm Cobra Kai. Now I'm Miyagi. Oh, wait, I'm Eagle Fang. So there's a lot of and I've even gone to different donors. Not because out of spite it was proximity anyway. When these competing dojos that you went to No, no. Nine. We're never taking those guys out. No, no, no, no, no. Way past tournament fighting days. So if a doll wasn't ever Cobra Kai increase didn't win 81. So he would have had two prior wins before 81 ever happened. He could have won an 80 are in the mid to late 70s. With a fighter? We don't know. Well, yeah. So there's something left there to dig up and be like, Hey, this is blah, blah, blah. Sal Rodriguez. He's this great fighter. And yeah, I want you to meet him and he's a little bit older, but he's a two time champ. Or maybe maybe it's two different guys. Right? We don't know. So there's a lot more there to unpack. But I remember reading this article thinking so I was trying to connect about so this recent rabbit hole deep dive got me thinking about all this stuff. Hang on, Jason. You're my mind has been blown here. This episode we thought was just gonna be about the doll. Right? But it leads us to this giant silhouette with a question mark and who was Cobra Kai's? First all Valley champ? First two. Wow. Holy cow. Yeah. Right. Will the real Cobra Kai champ please stand up? Yeah, one of the two missing champs or one champ stand up. That's pretty amazing. So that's going on that's got me thinking like, wow, and it makes obvious sense, right? If a draw could have been a Cobra Kai and if he was under that banner, he would have brought the 81 championship home. Chris spoke about him as if he was one of his own, but maybe he doesn't mired him. Right. Very skilled fighter. And maybe that's it. Maybe he needed to have a very skilled fighter to see Johnny or someone from the crew go up to and sees and they did so they've they've done this. It's almost like tarnishing the dolls legacy a little bit. We should have been 8182 We don't know. But he didn't win. We know Johnny did 83 last last. Didn't even make the finals got taken out by Tommy and Bobby and 84. We're getting to that right now. So you know, Jason, this kind of reminds me of the Mr. Olympia title. Yeah, Arnold Schwarzenegger. He won like six or seven in a row. And then he took like four years off, right from like, or like maybe three years off from like 77 to 80 came back in AD after like a three or four year layoff and one Yeah, I mean, unheard of. I don't even think that happens today in today's bodybuilding world. It was a great day. documentary called pumping iron. If you've always seen it, it's got young Lou Ferrigno and Frank Colombo. And then yeah, he led the record for Mr. Olympians at the time. And then I think Lee Haney surpassed him at one point in time much later. Yeah, there's been actually a couple more maybe since then more, right. Yeah, there's been a couple in fact, there was a female. There was a female. We're going off topic here. But there was a female, miss olympia. Yeah, who won so many? This is in recent history. She wants so many they actually just stopped the miss olympia. There's a little gap in the miss olympia of like, three, four years where they're like, We don't know what to do because this woman keeps winning every year. Well, I know they rebooted it again. Arno could have been that but like you just said he took a hiatus Yeah. If he never did that are wanting to become you know, a global icon actor or movie star. He probably could have just same thing. Yeah, they would have be like, You know what? This guy Arnold this Austrian guy. He's won like the last 10. Let's just take a break. Take off resorts and agar on board. Yeah, but exactly. Rename it. Anyway. So back on point. Let's go back to the Karate Kid. At for all Valley. We're at all star, right? Yep. We do see Darrell Vidal in the flesh. And sounds we talked about earlier and incredible fighter. It reminds me of Zander stone from Cobra Kai, like someone who's in a whole other class like oh my gosh, this guy remember that guy? Xander from the only Valley on Cobra Kai thus far? I think so. My cinnamon Nisha score skill. He's got the same. What do you call those moves up wetter? Oh, capoeira. Capoeira. He's incredible. Xander. And his mom ever Zander's mom was oh, yes, yes. Yeah, she was fantastic. So they went and found like, of adult type for that purpose. This generation. So the doll, exactly. And it was an ex champion. And he wound up you know, not winning, because we know who won Miguel went on to become the champ. Yes. And he fought Robbie. So Xander stone makes the semis and he does go any further. All right. So the doll I had forgotten his name is Chris tells Robbie, that story. I was like, oh, yeah, okay. But I didn't know it was the doll until I'm researching for Freddy. And it all comes back. And it was kind of an out of body experience out like, oh my gosh, I remember growing up thinking this guy's next next level. Yeah. And this is the puddle that all this history is about. I mean, they talk about him and Cobra Kai, Johnny talks to Tommy and Bobby and it's like, it's that thing, you know, oh, you'd be a doll that one time. You know, it's, it's something that they hold sacred because when they were on the up and up, that was the guy to knock off the mountaintop. Right? So he his history goes deep into this world. You know what I'm sensing here, Jason? Oh, yeah. No, spin off of a dull Cobra Kai, spin off. I think you're onto something and wait and tired. Blow your mind with more to come. So now let's go on to the tournament here. I can't believe it. So now we see the doll in the movie Karate Kid. Best several Cobra guys. Sure. Yeah, unnamed and unknown. Guys. If you remember, if you go back and watch it against like, he knocks one out. He kills one with another stomach shot. And he's in the semi finals with Johnny, right? Yeah, Johnny and Vidal. And then over here, you got Bobby and Daniel to be determined. By the way Jason does it say on the scoreboard Darrell the doll or does it just says the doll just says the doll. Even Even all Valley just last name. It says LORUSSO. So okay, everybody's names on the board last night. Everybody's listening. If I went back and watched you to get in place a brown maybe that's why Bobby got a last name. Then he was going up the ranks and I see I got it. So anyway, if I'm watching this, let's go back crease complimenting the doll to Robbie right? Yes. Oh, that's great fighter. 81 champ 82 We don't know 83 he loses the two guys you know Bobby and Tommy. But everyone's like, Oh my gosh, you beat the doll. You beat the doll. Here we aren't 84 watch the movie again. Watch the fight sequence. Watch the montage. No one's talking about the doll. They're overlooking him and their focus creases. And all the Kubrick guys are on this young buck named Daniel. Yes. You know that's something that you lose when you create history after the fact. Because knowing all this now they would have been watching the doll very closely. They would have had like head shakes as Fidel knocks out certain Cobra guys, but no one's got their eyes on him. You know the movie has shifted focus to Danielson. Yes. The doll is a threat. The biggest threat? Yeah, it could have been 8184 champ. Well, it could have been it could have claimed two titles right then in there. But in the fight south. Gianni scores, three straight points against the doll. It's over. Oh, no. That's kind of disappointing. It's kind of disappointing. I've never really had rested too much on our podcast about Karate Kid. I think sometimes we just kind of toss people aside. Yeah, well, Ali and Karthik departed, okay and the ComicCon let's just get rid of this person to move along. So it's kind of like they got rid of a doll to move the plot forward. If this ever gets revisited Sal, I would hope that someone says Fidel pulled a hamstring, you know, in the quarters, and that's why he didn't fight so good against Shawnee in the finals, because you can't, like he's even doing some great moves in the tournament. But then Johnny like, stops his leg and scores a point. It's like something must have happened to Vidal because he wasn't the same model and the finals per se, but in the movie, I get it. John G. Albertson, rest in peace, and everybody else is probably like, Hey, this guy is great. He's here for a reason. But we need Johnny to best him to look even tougher, right? Like a bigger insurmountable thing for Daniel to overcome. I get it. He can't go to the mat and have a to two barely beats for doll and then right he looks human. Right? It's like Lucky for he's supposed to look like indestructible Ivan Drago, I get it, but at the same time, you're tarnishing the legacy that you would write later. You know, but here's my last point before we go on to this trivia section for dolls Radio One winner. Okay. When he won his first title first and only I should say, yeah, he must have been 13 or 14 on his birthday. I mean, that's impressive. Oh my God, dude, you should have been a detective. I'm telling you. Now I know why you want to do a true crime show called that's a crime. Everybody listened to Let's Talk Cobra Kai, be sure to listen to that's a crime also on just curious media. Yes. I'm telling you, you do your due diligence detective work. Jason's really good at this sort of thing. I kind of fashioned myself I want to be detective as well. But Jason is really good at what timeframes timelines in chronological order sequence of events. I meant I get a little lost in that sort of thing. Wow. If I'm interested, if I'm in there, I'm fascinated by it. Because it's like, there's the facts. Does this make sense? Let's poke holes in art. let's map it out. Like what's the Blueprint here? And these are just facts. I don't want to bring my hypothesis. I'm really I downplay that, like, what's going to happen next season? Well, so you know, I hope that Johnny and Daniel stay together and they form a strong union and Miyagi dough flourishes. I don't want to give you all my because that's uncertainty. I don't know yet. What I do know is this. Yeah. And then I can speculate with inside that framework. And that's a valid question or statement. Here's a 1314 year old prodigy winning and all Valley. Usually they're older Daniel comes in. You know, he's an 84. He's also an 85. He wins 85 off a crazy technicality. But there's even questions if Daniels even under 18 and 85. Right. He's definitely not 13 or 14. Yeah, right. Yeah. And then Miguel. We've never talked about it in Cobra Kai, we don't talk about under 18. We just say all Valley under 18, as you said recently, like just kind of gets swept under the rug. We don't yeah, they're not really printing the words under 18 much anymore when it relates to all valid. And had they done so I'd say Miguel would have been 1617 depending on birthday. But here's Fidel 1314. He would have had to have been, yeah, because if you go back four years, and he's under 18. So you know, this guy is renowned, but impressive. I highly encourage any and everybody to a watch credit kid again. But watch the fight sequence. Yeah, but you know what's, what's kind of sad though, is that means when you put it all this way under this context. Yep. The adult peaked too early. True. At least they wrote it that way. Yeah, you're right. He could have been in the finals and lost to Johnny 92. So he's on the cusp. 83. Now they've just they have him just getting beaten by October guys. 93 and 84. He gets ousted super early in the final. So yeah, maybe he picked early. Maybe there's a lot of tape. They got to study him. They figured out his tendencies. Yeah. And they use it against him. And he's the only fighter I've see from his dojo. Lucas Valley. I don't know. Yeah, he's the standout from from Lucas Valley dojo, kind of like Robbie and Cobra Kai the one or valley he's fought and he's the Miyagi dough are Danielson for that matter. Miyagi dough is represented by one until this new season, which why I'm super excited about all Valley because it's the first time we've seen like, Miyagi dough in numbers, right or whatever is going to be called adjacent. We now have concrete evidence that Terry silver will be in season four of Cobra Yeah, yes, we did. We wonder if Mike Barnes will be in season four wouldn't be shocked. We joke about Freddy Fernandez being in will Daryl the dull be in season four. That was my last question for you. But we'll skip through it right now. I'd say If anyone deserves to come back. Yeah, this guy does because he's got such a pedigree. So yes, yeah, he's got respect right out of the gate. FROM ALL Cobra Kai, or even just Miyagi dough, it'd be like, Oh, even Daniel could say no, I saw him and I'm glad I didn't get picked with him. He got Bobby over, over for doll in the four. So yeah, I'd love to see him come back. And now I'm going to blow your mind. Oh, no, no, no more than you already have your set now. No, that was just the setup. Oh boy. Darrell, the dolls real life name is indeed. Darrell the doll. What? That's crazy. That's one thing. Oh, there's more. We're leading up to more. Oh my at the time of filming The Karate Kid. He was a first degree black belt goes without saying obviously looks to be the part looks legit. He could have been hired at the time. Well, at least by 2012. And I don't know since then. I read. He is a 10th degree black belt and Grandmaster Wow series. Oh, this guy's legit. Legit. Wait a second. Jason. Is Darrell the doll listed as stunts or actor or he's an actor doing his own stunts? Well, I don't know. But this might answer some of that. Yeah. And the Karate Kid wearing a bald cap on the doll actually played Mr. Miyagi as he practiced the crane kick on the pole as Daniel watched. Oh my god. Holy cow. So upon reading this, I go look at that scene again. You know, it's in a distance. It's a little hazy. And it does look like someone much younger when you're studying it now under this knowledge, like sure it's true. I was about to say this is unconfirmed. I went looked at I was like, Yeah, that's a pretty difficult move, as you know. And it definitely looks like it could be one barrel of a doll. Wow. Oh, my God. Now have the biggest revelation become. We're not there yet. This is this is it. We're on the cantilever. Dini. Take a breath moment. Let me stretch my neck out. Yeah, let me do the Dutch neck like Robbie did in the trailer. It's right. Next snap. Okay, I'm ready. The biggest revelation comes directly from John G. Allison, what, who stated that for doll actually invented the Crane Kick. What? I cannot believe it, I take it at his word. I take him at his word. He's practicing it. For Mr. Miyagi. I get it. He had an idea. I read a little bit more about it. It was his idea. They brought him in. They want him in this movie. So because he could fight with them. And he knew what he was doing. He could raise their game. He could do those great spin moves and things and make that scene just come to life. Like what's that finals again? Johnny scores three points. But the doll is doing all the work. He's jumping in the air and Johnny's catching his leg. And he's doing something scoring equip point. And John is doing a great job. Yeah, Williams, Africa's doing fantastic. But it's because you're playing with someone way better next next level. Yeah. And they probably said and I don't know all of this. I want to do a deeper dive how it came about. But they needed something to end the movie where they needed a point that's very clear for the audience. Right? And there's no question and it's something we haven't seen and no one like some reverse bonds or, you know, so he came up with this kick and it's like, Are you kidding me? Well, because look how big it's gotten. And now they have written the the current show runners of Let's Talk Cobra Kai, have written folklore. Why not? Let's talk Cobra Kai but Cobra Kai, well, yeah, there we go. What did I say? Let's talk Okay, I'll take the credit. The show runners of Cobra Kai, have now written folklore surrounding the crane and its history the Miyagi dough. Exactly. It comes from there, but it's the dolls thing. So if anybody sell back to your question, point, whatever, If anyone deserves to come on Cobra Kai derover doll does in some way, shape or form bringing back to our valley to be a celebratory judge. Bring him back in some context. Have a reel that you watch on the screen before all valance like, let's just revisit some of our past champions and there's all there's Lawrence, there's Danielson But would that be incredible? Bring him back this guy deserves it. I want to get him on the podcast at some point in time. So I would even say this because you mentioned this back when at the Karate Kid episode. The night of the Halloween dance and then Daniel gets jumped they're all wearing those outfits because as you and I both know it's not those actors that are attacking Daniel they're just up in the skeleton up but you could bring stuff in and more easily right? Yeah, I guarantee it Fidel is one of those guys are making that assumption. Oh my gosh, first Freddy Fernandez in the chicken costume. Now this well And that's an assumption there. But obviously that's why they did it. They could bring in actual stunt people and they could fight with Daniel and it wouldn't be like, you know, in a mask when you saw Johnny, but there were moments where you had to do that. So this was just riveting to me on Salman when I read that, that he invented the Crane Kick. Yeah, I was frozen in front of my computer screen. Like, Hold on. Wait a second. I went down this rabbit hole. Thank goodness, because this was waiting for me. Wow. That is amazing. That is absolutely amazing. Yeah, I mean, I mean, I'm blown away. And it's not often I'm speechless, but I am speechless right now. I can attest to that. I have no story to tell here. Yeah, that's crazy. I have no more to cover. That was it. It was doing a deep dive. And I thought, even if I had discovered that, Sal, this episode was happening. That was a late Find in the process. Jason, I have to ask you then I know you're a big fan of IMDB. So Darryl vissol. Prior to credit, get Darrell the DOE post credit but what has he been up to? Well, I did read that he has his own dojo. It's in California in Northern California. I'd have to look it up. Exactly. And now he's a grandmaster. And he is truly a martial arts teacher. This is his long sensei. He's a true sensei. So you know, he was right place right time. He was training he had who knows what was going on? I'd love to get more people from the crew on like, are they putting out bulletins for martial artist and all the stuff that went behind and all the other like young students they brought in and it's like, this guy is young enough. And he's got the moves. But yeah, I don't know if he ever had the desire to be an actor sell. But it was just lucky for us. Oh, yeah. Lucky for us, Cobra Kai Karate Kid fans that Daryl Vidal was in the movie brought all that he brought. And I never knew until this very evening, how much props and kudos the doll is owed. Exactly. Examine this. This is pretty big to the foundation of Karate Kid and Cobra Kai. Yeah. And the speculation on who is the original Cobra Kai all Valley champ. Now I'm not gonna be asleep. Tonight. I'm going to be wondering who the hell that is. Yeah, but it could be one or two people. But Chris apparently has two more titles. Oh, my God. So. And it wasn't one of these guys that we know. And it wasn't after 85 Because what crease went on the down and out and you know, burned out and he only came back most recently? Yeah. So. So it's definitely proceeds at one. Crease one, two more titles with somebody. There are all these possibilities. Yeah, I know. I mentioned that word a lot in dealing with the Cobra universe, Karate Kid universe is the possibilities and the probabilities. Yeah. I mean, jeez, the possibilities are endless. But I absolutely now am going to be beating the drum for adult this point. Me too. Me too. And it's also exciting to know that there's other deep dives rabbit holes like this, we can go down if we just look, I know you will take us there. I know. I know. You'll find it. I know. I really I'm gonna be sitting here again with my brain that can't even process this. It's going to take some time. So please, if you enjoy this episode, riotous, do a five star review. Write us on social media. If your mind is blonde like sales, we'd love to hear from you. We're probably do so for another fan comments questions episode. I've mentioned that before? Yeah, probably should gear up for volume to some point soon. And yeah, we can explore some of this. I'm sure we have some listeners who are like, wait a second and they'll have another tag or maybe they didn't get speculate on who was a previous champion. I don't know who that person is. I'm gonna look around and see if I can find something in the movies. Is there anything? Is there anything after that we can, you know, couldn't have been Terry Silva he would not have fought in in those. So anyway, fans take it from there. Let us know what you think. But I had a lot of fun man. This was an episode. I really I wanted to have this conversation with you. Anyway, like all the episodes like I couldn't wait to talk to you about Freddie. But this one is like, Sal is gonna love this just as much as me. No, no, I'm just sitting here with my mouth open, like, not believing what I'm hearing. That's what I felt I offered today just kind of sitting here with my jaw dropped like, oh, no, no, you did plenty. You allowed me to share and get excited by it and know you're wonderful as usual. So thank you, Jason. No, this was really fantastic. I had a lot of fun with this.
