I'm excited because we are totally getting into something for the fourth time. And that is the Karate Kid and Cobra Kai collectables, volume four.

Here we are. So it's been a while and these we got them several months ago. And why don't you explain what these are just a little bit, and then we'll slowly jump in.

Sure, we made friends with Diamond Select toys, Diamond Select makes beautiful figures including Cobra Kai Karate Kid, or they also have a Marvel branch that makes fantastic Marvel figures. So they're a fantastic toymaker for sure in my top three, for sure. My top three favorite toy makers absolutely up there with with a couple others. So they were nice enough to send us not only figures that we reviewed previously sevenish fully articulated figures which we absolutely loved. But surprisingly much to our surprise, they sent us also some Blind Box figures, three inch thick these are called D forms, three inch vinyl figures. And these are made in the fashion of what's called a blind box. And Jason What that means is we don't know what's inside. We don't know which character there are five characters.

So these toys aren't for the blind.

They aren't they did not have Braille. i Sorry. I think this originally I wasn't sure. The idea I think originally came from Japan, the whole blind box thing where you buy the toys. You buy the boxes, you don't know what's in them. And then you you get a surprise now when I was a kid, the ice cream man used to come by and we had you heard him down the street. We will know I chased him. I chased him. And he had what's called grab bags and these grab bags you pay like you know 75 cents. Yes. And then in the bag. You know what it was little toys, little lollipops, a little government kits. Yeah, it was a surprise. So I think in the realm of the grab bags, and then through Japan comes the blind boxes and blind bags on the Salvador Los Angeles YouTube channel. I did some blind bag Godzilla figurine reviews. So I had such a great time. Jason, I'm excited that we're doing this tonight because we are going to open up these diamond select three inch vinyl Blind Box figures and see what we get. When I

Being a collector as a kid of baseball cards football cards. Yes. It's always a blind bag. We're gonna pack open your pack and you don't know what you're getting. Yeah, I remember being a youngster with my cousin Sean. And we were always on the hunt for Reggie Jackson cards right? And you'd open up on I think there'd be a bubble gum like a piece of bubble gum and their sticker bubble gum. And you'd look for Reggie, sometimes the gum had been in that pack in the heat, and it ruined the card

It's fun, you get a lot of dupes a lot of duplicates, that's going to

I learned this as we were prepping I was like so as a 12 character, no five characters. So 24 boxes. So what I want to do to make it fun and also fun for our listener is make it competitive. This is the athlete in me and write down every time we get someone and we get a winner. And we can also look at the statistics. Like oh, wow, much like is that more of a rare one. So let's say who they are. There's Daniel Johnny crease, Sam and hawk. Yes, those are the five any wagers on who would be the most obscure. I think crease will be the most obscure that's my vote.

Because I know there's a lot of things that they don't sell individually, this seems like they would sell individually, because they're boxed up, they're isolated and protected. But give us an education on that what creates a two pack and sometimes it kind of obscure these pairings. You know, so like the toy companies think that just works better. Just want to learn more about that?

Well, I think a lot of this ideas started with some of the comic book action figure makers such as Hasbro, where they would put a popular figure, along with maybe a less popular figure. Because the idea was if they just put out the less popular figure, maybe people wouldn't buy it. But if you put the less popular figure paired up with a popular figure people definitely buy the two pack them. So I think that what happened is that kind of set sort of a standard. So when it comes to two packs and three packs, you will seldom see three characters just as popular as one another, you're going to see one or more one maybe who be the star of the set. Now in this instance, I don't think

but in this world, this Karate Kid, you know, crypto world if you have Johnny and Daniel or Daniel Mr. Miyagi, they're all superstars.

Okay, well, let's cut to the chase here. Then Jason. I was recently to Target and I looked at the Hasbro Power Rangers, Cobra crossover. Okay, they had Seward crossover, but it's a strange crossover. But I understand the Power Rangers universe is doing that a lot. They're going into other realms and they're doing these crossovers. Okay, so they released Daniel, they released Johnny, they released Miguel, they really Sam. Sam was gone. Sam didn't last long on the shelf. And Daniel was going

could have been that Hasbro released less of them. That can happen, then the figure is actually more rare. So what happens is though, Daniel was gone fairly quickly. Sam was gone fairly quickly. Johnny, and Miguel reached the clearance aisle.

I did buy Johnny on the clearance aisle I bought. Okay, let's go with my own buying habits. The reason I bought Daniel, first and foremost was because he had a white outfit. And he was really I think kind of honored Karate Kid. I don't really think that the Johnny Lawrence Power Rangers crossover, really honored Johnny Lawrence so much. So I made a buying decision. I bought Daniel unregular price. I bought Johnny on clearance. And I passed on Miguel and I passed on Sam, because I wasn't so crazy about the Omar I don't think was a great homage. I don't think the body type look like Sam so much. I don't think the headsculpt look like Miguel so much. So yeah, we don't have a oh, oh, we have a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles versus Cobra Kai. And there's a pretty decent look and Miguel there if you want to Miguel action figure.
