Jason Connell:

Welcome to Just curious media. This is let's talk Cobra Kai. I'm Jason Connell.

Sal Rodriguez:

And I'm Sal Rodriguez.

Jason Connell:

All right, Sal, we are here not to talk about Cobra Kai are here. We are here to promote to our loyal fans. A new show.

Sal Rodriguez:

Yeah, they say in sales to try to sell to your existing customers. So hey, if you already liked listening to Jason Connell and Sal Rodriguez, here's another opportunity to do so.

Jason Connell:

That is true. And this is not a let's talk show. Haha, like that. Let's talk show. We have another show called Let's Talk movies, and which I host and bring on guest host with me to explore different movies, not in the Cobra Kai Karate Kid universe. But this is a whole new genre altogether. And the show is entitled, that's a crime and sound I cover various crimes from petty crimes to murders.

Sal Rodriguez:

I think at some point in our friendship, Jason that you and I discovered that we have a mutual interest and true crime. I know I have. And this is total honestly, I fantasized about being a detective. I mainly the eating in the car. I like the eating in the car stuff. You know, I'm a huge fan of Cold Case Files. I'm a huge fan of Forensic Files. And I love seeing bad people locked up. I love seeing evil people go to prison. So this is all part of that genre. And Jason I figured out hey, we're both into it.

Jason Connell:

Yeah. Well, I think I grew up loving movies like Escape from Alcatraz, of course years later than Shawshank Redemption. So prison movies always worked. For me. It was terrifying. But it was like a whole subculture that fascinated me. And then the things that people would do to put themselves in there or avoid going. So that whole system really interest me. And yeah, I've always had a fascination in human nature. And just in general crimes are great stories, you know, and again, it's not just your run of the mill show about cult leaders and serial killers. I want that to be in there. But there's also some bizarre stories. For instance, we've done a few episodes already. Our first episode is dB Cooper, which in 1971, it's like one of the greatest heist to ever happen. So I want those stories to be sprinkled in with some of the more tragic things we've covered. Patrick Dennehy, who was the Baylor basketball player who was killed unfortunately, far too young. We covered that in episode two, and just recently, tell them what we recovered on episode three.

Sal Rodriguez:

Episode Three covers Dana Plato. We all know her as Kimberly Drummond from the 80s sitcom different strokes. We cover not only her life, but in particularly her crime of robbing a video store.

Jason Connell:

Yeah, that made all the headlines sound when she robbed a video store with a pellet gun and got just under$200 cash. And here she is highly recognizable. I mean, we just hadn't seen something like that at that point in time. So there's so many more episodes to come. And we want to invite our loyal fans of Let's Talk Cobra Kai, and come and join us on this new journey. That's a crime. It means the world to us if you could even subscribe to help get our numbers out of the starting blocks, if you will, because when we started this whole podcast venture just curious media. Let's talk Cobra Kai was the first podcast so there was no pre existing audience to speak to.

Sal Rodriguez:

Yeah, let's talk Cobra Kai. I like to think will forever be the flagship show for just curious media scene is how I am official co host but yeah, very excited to be on this journey of that's a crime. I love prison shows you mentioned Shawshank Redemption. You mentioned Escape from Alcatraz. The first HBO show I ever fell in love with us my God. Oh good. Yes. And then that then turn me over now into Orange is the New Black. So I'm big on prison culture American me. Hello. So yeah, come along with us on this journey as we talk about crime and all the goings on and hey, maybe I'll let you in on a little bit of my background where I've had some brushes with the law myself. So Jason may pull some of those things out of me.

Jason Connell:

Yeah, special features. So again, thank you so much for being a fan of Let's Talk Cobra Kai. And please, please, please check out that's a crime where ever you get your podcasts subscribe rate and review this show and help us reach as many people as possible.
